Our Story

In 1973, Phil and Chris Brandwood began constructing their first window in their garage on Bone Lane, Newbury.

50 years later, Jacqui and Ian Whiddett carry on their legacy. Together, they lead a dedicated team of over 20 individuals, some of whom have been part of the Brand Windows family for four decades.

What areas do you cover?Brand Windows Ltd operate from a site just North of junction 13 on the M4. We cover Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Wiltshire, Hampshire and Surrey.

What colours do you offer?We have a range of over 30+ stocked and made to order colours. Our product lines are all colour-matched for continuity, however not all colours are available across all products. Check out our <colours> page for more information on what’s available.

How do I know the work will meet with Building Regulation requirements?Brand Windows Ltd are FENSA registered, the government-authorised scheme that monitors building regulation compliance for replacement windows and doors. A FENSA certificate will be given to you at the end of the installation.

How long will it take to get my products?We pride ourselves on reliability and efficiency, and by manufacturing our products in-house, we have a shorter lead time than other local companies. Not every project is the same so if you have a deadline in mind, please let us know as we can guide you on which products are stocked and can be delivered to you quicker. Some made to order products can take longer to obtain so speak to us a quickly as possible to help avoid any delay.

I’d like a new door, but how do I start the process?To give you an accurate quote we need to know the measurements of your door frame, and what door you would like. Visit our <doors> page to choose your panels, colours and accessories, then simply follow online instructions to let us know the estimated size. This will give us enough information to give you a quote. Then we can send somebody to visit your property before the order is finalised.

How long does installation take?Replacing one window or one door will only take a few hours from arrival to departure, however replacing all windows and doors, building conservatories or installing sky lantern roofs will take longer. <Speak to our team> for more information.

Do I need to be home for installation?Yes, all of our products require you to be at home for us to install them.

Can you remove my old windows, doors, and conservatory?Absolutely! We will remove and dispose of your old products, and we are proud to be a part of Eurocell’s Recycling scheme.

Do I need planning permission?You don’t need planning permission to replace your windows and doors. For conservatories, garden rooms and new spaces we recommend checking with the Government’s Planning Portal online before starting any work. The planning portal refers to garden rooms as outbuildings.

How do I battle condensation in my home?If your windows are regularly condensating, firstly check whether it is inside or outside the glass. If the condensation appears outside the glass then your windows are working as they should. If you find it on the glass inside your home then you should ventilate the room. If the condensation is inside the panel and can’t be touched from inside or outside then your units are likely to be broken, and will need replacing. What’s the requirements for toughened glass?The requirement for toughened glass is within 800mm of finished floor level, or 300mm to the side of the door.

What's the minimum width door size for wheelchair access?For a straight on approach, doors require 940mm width for wheelchair users.
